| I need help getting Psyche Corp. on Pandora radio! |
[26 Oct 2009|03:32pm] |
Well, it seems Pandora Radio rejected my music submission, and won't let me resubmit (I can only submit the album I have on Amazon, i.e. Worlds on a String).
The only other way (based on what I see in the FAQ) is to have fans write in and request my music :
How do I suggest music if it's not already on Pandora?
When you try to add a song or artist to one of your stations, or try to create a station from a song or artist, and Pandora doesn't recognize it, please let us know!
Send your music suggestions to: suggest-music@pandora.com
But how to get that many people to send variations of the following email:
Dear Pandora Radio,
I would love to hear some music by the band Psyche Corporation played on your radio, especially stuff from their album Worlds on a String. Please put them on!
Sincerely,
____
I dunno. I can only hope. Alternatively, if enough people write but Pandora doesn't budge on Worlds on a String, it will at least remember that people like Psyche Corp. and therefore be more likely to add my next album when I'm finished recording it..
And.. perhaps to make it interesting, I can promise that if you write an email to Pandora on my behalf, I will take a picture of myself holding a thank you sign addressed to you (or the person/thing of your choice), balanced [more or less] on the body part of your choice (fully clothed, of course :P). Just write that email and name it. I will post it here, or somewhere else on the internet where you can see it.

| sigh, and SHOW |
[23 Oct 2009|05:29pm] |
First, I have a show tomorrow night at midnight! That means SATURDAY NIGHT occuring at 12am "sunday".
It is at
Connolly's Klub 45 121 west 45th street 3rd floor Manhattan, NYC $10, Doors 8pm, 21+
Any extra bodies coming to see Psyche Corporation (my band) would make a huge difference as it's the first time I'm going to be evaluated by the most connected booking agent in NYC. So.. more people will mean he may book me for more things.
It's hugely important and I have blogged about it on nyc lj communities to promote and at this point I'm not sure where else to turn to promote more for this show. If you're out there, mysterious new york people, please come by.
---
Secondly, it seems I'm going to be a steampunk fashion model tomorrow at the afternoon fashion show. This is insane. I will apparently not have time to go home between the fashion show and performing at two different venues in the same night. But it's also kind of cool being a fashion model again.
Sadly, I don't really have anyone to call and tell about this, because most of my friends are not even slightly into fashion. So..
pssst... I'm going to be a model in a fashion show. And walk on the runway.. yayy...

I read a total stranger's lj today, it was reiling_lina. I like her pictures and what she says about self portraits. Self portraits rock, and people who try to put you down for them are people who apparently have nothing better to do with their time. one of my favorite professional models is an ex-photographer and does a lot of photos for herself and for her clothing clients who want commerical prints. she's awesome.
sometimes I like to imagine what would happen if the neat strangers from faraway lands lived near me, and if we were friends. then we could do photoshoots together, and I could have them parade around on stage in cool costumes when I'm doing my performances, etc etc.
we could have ghost tea parties.
yah.

| Birthday |
[20 Aug 2009|11:06pm] |
Oh hay, my birthday is on Monday. I haven't planned a party because I didn't have time to worry about it. If you want, write me a pretty or strange little story and send it to me.
Alternatively, Write a Review of one of my released songs or one of my released CDs (see www.psychecorporation.com/mp3 for discography, listen to songs on www.soundclick.com/psychecorp or at myspace.com/psychecorp or at lastfm.com/music/Psyche+Corporation).
The review-writing would actually be very useful to me, because I could post it to my press page on my site and feel cool and reviewed. If you know someone who is willing to write reviews on the fly for Psyche Corp, that would also be very much appreciated.
Even more alternatively, make a music video out of random clips of movies/anime/whatever for one of my songs and put it on youtube. I will send you mp3s of whatever you're thinking of working on. In this case it need not be finished by my birthday. The fact that you're working on it at all will make me happy.
Again, alternatively: dress up as one of my characters, or as some denizen of the Psyche Corp. or angelic commonwealth world (see psychecorporation.com/world/timeline.html for ideas. Also psychecorporation.com/world ) and take a picture of yourself and send it to me, cuz that would be awesome. Or even without dressing up, take a picture of yourself holding a sign that says something nice about Psyche Corp. Or take a picture of a wall that you've graffittied (sp?) with some message about Psyche Corp. Just kidding. (Use chalk.) and send that. I will be happy. SO very happy. Have fun with it. Be a conspiracy nut who thinks Psyche Corp. is controlling humanity at the subliminal level. Scrawl "PSYCHE CORP IS REAL." in agonized paranoid script (yes, agonize that script! Scare the snot out of it!)
That is all.
Have a good weekend, you wonderful people.

| A post! an lj post! |
[14 Aug 2009|04:26pm] |
So..I've been trying to actually write entries on this thing, but then I ended up writing my entry on psychecorp.livejournal.com
But here's the skinny: ---- brief recap of the last three years:
MUSIC I put out my first two music albums, and am halfway through my third album. lots of the songs are on myspace.com/psychecorp built a website here: http://www.psychecorporation.com played a lot of shows trained dancers to do choreographed coolness in my shows
Started recruiting local inventors/artists to show off their robots and futuristic/dreamscape art at my shows, calling these shows Techxibitions (see psychecorporation.com/techxibition)
Which is really why I'm on this lj now, trying to find more people for the next Techxibition, tentatively themed "Cyberpunk Cabaret Museum." Joiners are welcome to use whatever interpretation of that theme they like. tentative date is mid to late November. Contact me if you're innerested ^_~
OTHER STUFF I am a co-author on a Nature Materials cover article :D it came out August 2008, and it was about some neat bioengineering techniques my lab (at the time) developed using hydrogels.
I am doing a lot of cancer research, and other medical research at a lab where I am paid. Yay!
I started a Zombie Conservation movement.. (see http://psychecorporation.com/undeadconservation/)
I did this:
I hula hooped while on fire. {without singeing myself! FTW}
Met a lot of cool people, some of whom are going to help me make a theater piece/dream manufacture booth for a big glittery NYC party in September..
I got involved in a secret society and did stuff of a secret nature. Then I left the secret society.
I had a bunch of Ricochet Robots parties and rocked out.
I read stuff. (Knot theory, foster child care, electrical engineering, gunter grass, corporate mercenaries, globalization, blah blah blah.)
I watched a ton of movies and TV episodes while on airplanes, and made a bunch of cool friends.
there you go. life in a nutshell.

| YAY! |
[27 Aug 2007|05:43pm] |

| soundclick |
[13 Mar 2007|07:37am] |
ah, spring break! I made a soundclick for psychecorp and made a bunch of the new songs downloadable. I have tons of song drafts for new stuff but am going to hold off serious recording for those until summer when I can devote all my attention to the music instead of worrying over MCATs.
Now I have to figure out excuses/ways to spread this thing around:

^_^
